Interest in Glass Beach

I posted one picture a couple months ago from Glass Beach in Fort Bragg, CA. It’s one of the coolest places I’ve been to, and if you haven’t been there, you should definitely check it out sometime. Just don’t be one of those people pointlessly filling up a plastic bag with the prettiest of the glass pebbles littering the shore!

The place used to be a landfill full of lots of glass bottles. Over the years, nature transformed them into smooth little stones. It’s well worth the trip, especially if you can manage to avoid the crowds.

A couple weeks back I opened my Flickr messages for the first time in a long while. A week before I had received a message from a New York Times reporter who wanted to use one of my photos for a column he was writing the following day. Unfortunately, I had missed the email the week before and I was reminded of how crucial it can be to keep checking ALL sorts of account inboxes moving forward.

Strangely enough, someone else was inquiring about using the same photo on for a piece on their website just a few days later. Luckily, it wasn’t too late for that.

It’s a cool website that recommends travel locations based on the dates you’re looking to go. It could be helpful for me as I plan future trips. Check it out here.

And definitely take the time to check out Glass Beach. And please be selfless enough not to hoard what makes it such a nice place. Leave the glass on the beach!
